Areas of Interest: Star formation
Helen Kirk is interested in local star formation, particularly at submillimetre and radio wavelengths. Her research includes analysis of dense gas structures (cores and filaments), clustering, dynamics, and some astrochemistry. She is also interested in the comparison between observations and predictions from simulations, creating synthetic observations from the simulations to make better comparisons and predictions. She currently works with the JCMT Legacy Surveys, assisting with SCUBA-2 data reduction and analysis.
