Research Interests

  • Observational cosmology, galaxy formation and evolution
  • High redshift quasars, early supermassive black hole growth, ionization state and metal enrichment in the early universe
  • Obscured AGN, unified schemes, evolution and luminosity dependence of type-1/type-2 AGN fraction
  • Distant massive galaxies selected at sub-millimetre and IR wavelengths – star formation rate, AGN activity, molecular gas, stellar and dark matter halo masses
  • Extinction law of dust and associated gas absorption in high-redshift galaxies and quasars
  • Radio jets – clock for AGN triggering event and feedback with ICM
  • Cool brown dwarfs
